The Choirs
"Come unto the Lord and make a new song".  The Chancel Choir at Oaklette United Methodist is a group of dedicated men and women who seek to serve the Lord through music. Our mission is to glorify and magnify God through Jesus Christ our Saviour.  We share the love of God and His promise of Salvation through a wide variety of music.  This music ministry helps lead worship on Sunday mornings at 11 o'clock service.  There are many ways to serve the Lord and get involved.  We are always looking for people to share their talents through singing, instrumental, and narration to help lead our worship service.  If you have a desire to praise the Lord with your voice, please join us on Wednesday night rehearsals from 6:30-7:30 p.m.   Please feel free to contact Dana Moody at 497-3171 or the church office at 545-7434.

United Methodist Men (UMM) is a Christian Men's Group that meets monthly for dinner
at 6:00 pm on the 4th Wednesday of each month. After the May meeting, they will be taking off the months of June, July and August, they will start their regular monthly meetings again in September.

PLEASE NOTE

TO ALL MEN OF OAKLETTE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH
The United Methodist Men of Oaklette Church requests that every man who attends our
church (members and non-members) consider attending and becoming a part of our
organization. We meet on the fourth Wednesday of each month at 6:00 PM, except
during the summer months. We meet in the Fellowship Hall or we go to a local
restaurant, which is announced the Sunday before the meeting. The UMM raises funds
during the year to help with the mission, outreach and needs of our church. We have
been a chartered conference organization for over 70 years and would like to continue
this church tradition.

With the aging of the men who normally attend these meetings and the number of
members decreasing, we are at a turning point in the life of our group. We realize a
commitment to such an organization as this is hard to make for the younger men who
have family obligations. In our meeting last month, those attending discussed the
possibility of disbanding the UMM. But after some discussion it was decided to try to
continue the men’s ministry at Oaklette United Methodist Church. If we can increase the
attendance and membership in our organization and have help in our fund raising, we
can become a more dynamic ministry in our church.

At this point, the only fund raiser we have each year is making a 50 gallon pot of apple
butter by working on a Friday evening and all day on Saturday. This whole process
takes a total of about 12 hours. It is definitely a long day for everyone, especially the
older we get! But the most enjoyable part of this day is the fellowship and friendship
that takes place all day long. Because of the response to the apple butter made in April, the second event for this year is scheduled for September 29 (6:00 PM) and September 30th (starting at 6:00 AM). Please see one of the UMM to schedule some of your time to help with this project. There will be sign-up sheets in the hall by the office

Again, please consider joining us at our monthly meetings and become a part of this
organization.

THANK YOU
