Our mission statement:

Oaklette United Methodist Church, through worship, education, and outreach, seeks to make the gospel of Jesus Christ real as we minister to all people.

Beautiful work from our April 26 children's church ministry.

The season of Easter, or Eastertide, is a time of embracing the promise and hope of Resurrection. It is a time of leaning into the stories that matter. Come and gather around the stories of those who wrestled with the Easter event and some of the words of preparation that Jesus gave to help us live the reality of eternity now. It is clear from these stories that Jesus wanted to equip us to thrive in a season of Easter promise. This season, we hope you’ll engage in stories that matter.

Please join us for worship May 17 at 11 a.m. as we celebrate Ascension Sunday with Acts 1:1-11 as our text. This text and others for Ascension Sunday can be read at the link below.

🌐 This week's scriptures

The United Methodist Men of Salem UMC invited us to join their April 25 breakfast at Angie's. Four folks from Oaklette went: Joe Peele [third from left], Buzz and Shelly Castellow [seated, rear right], and the pastor [right]. Salem joined Oaklette for a Lenten study and both churches have joined Community UMC for a confirmation class. As Psalm 133 begins, "How wonderful it is, how pleasant for God's people to live together in harmony!"

Our new Sunday school and children's church curriculum has a curious name: "Embracing an Adverbial Faith." The adverbs in question come from the United Methodist vision statement, which calls us to love boldly, serve joyfully, and lead courageously. Our final classes meets May 17, 9:30-10:30 a.m., with a lesson about belief that God can change the world. The scriptures for the lesson, which are also used for children's church, are Psalm 96, Romans 12:1-8, and Matthew 28:16-20 and can be read at the link below.

Thanks to Jane Basnight and Joanne Rooks for teaching children's church May 10.
