FAMILY GAME NIGHT
Oaklette’s Fall Game Night will be Saturday,
October 7 from6:30 - 8:30 PM in the Fellowship Hall.
Bring your favorite game (board, card, or group
challenge) as well as a snack to share!

BREAKFAST AT DENNY’S
Oaklette is encouraging you and your friends to gather for a
‘social breakfast’ at the Battlefield Blvd. Denny’s located in front
of the Home Depot on the second Friday of every month. In October
that’s Friday, October 13th! This is an opportunity for the goodfolk
of Oaklette to “get outside of the castle” and into the neighborhood of
which we are a part. No reservations are necessary! Just show
up and eat breakfast (or a snack). Breakfast is on you.
Debbie Rippard will be there to greet you at 9:00AM!

LIGHT THE NIGHT HALLOWEEN COMMUNITY EVENT
Oaklette, we need candy! Lots of it,for the annual
Light the Night Halloween Community Event
(October 31st) is fast approaching! We also need many
volunteers to supervise games for the kids, hand out
Bibles, cook hot dogs, welcome the community into
our building and much...much more! This year J. P.
Morgan will be coordinating our outreach into the
community.
 
ALL SAINTS DAY REMEMBRANCE CELEBRATION
As a part of our All Saint’s Sunday Worship Celebration on November 5th;
 we will be remembering our loved ones who have died since November 7, 2016.
Families of church members who have died in this time period will be invited to
be a part of this special celebration. If you would like to remember a loved one who
has died in the past year (and was not a member of Oaklette), you may call
the church office by no later than the morning of October 30th.
 We will need to know the name of the deceased and the date of birth.
If possible we would also ask that you submit a photograph of the one you are remembering so that it can be used during the celebration.
 
FANNIE WHITEHURST SUNDAY
This year as we celebrate our founding as the Oaklette United
Methodist Church both Oaklette and Spirit of Truth Ministries
will worship and share in fellowship together during the 11:00 AM
worship service. Our special guest preacher will be the Rev. A. J.
Thomas founder of Joyful Giving Group (a church consultant group
cultivating a culture of generosity). A. J.and his wife, Ashley, live in
North Carolina's Triad region. A. J. originally hails from Upstate New York.
While Dr. Tim pastored in New York State A. J. served as his youth pastor.
A Pot-Luck Dinner willfollow the 11:00 AM worship in the Fellowship Hall.
Please bringa dish to pass (i.e.; salads, casseroles, desserts).
Chicken will be provided by the church.
The History Team will be hosting this event.
